A Common Dis(ease)

A conversation about health and healing

We write "dis(ease)" the way we do on purpose. Illness so often begins long before a diagnosis, in disconnection, in chronic stress, in environments and routines that leave the body and spirit out of ease. Cancer, autoimmune conditions, and chronic disease are carried by so many people in our community, quietly and often alone.

This isn't medical advice, and it isn't a substitute for the care of a physician or oncologist. It's simply a reminder of something we believe deeply at HVN'S HAVEN: that prevention, nourishment, rest, and community are part of healing too, right alongside good medical care, never instead of it.

Why community matters

Our ambassador, Mama Sōl, is a two-time breast cancer survivor. Her strength and presence remind us daily that healing is not a solitary act. Having people who show up, who cook a meal, who sit with you in the hard moments: that support changes the experience of illness, even when it can't change the diagnosis.

That's the heart of programs like Guiding Grace, our hospice services, and Garden of Vitality, our nutritional consultations, meeting people with practical, compassionate support alongside whatever medical care they're already receiving.

If you or someone you love is navigating a diagnosis, please don't carry it alone. Reach out to us. We're here to walk alongside you.
